Honor the Women in Your Life

The YWCA of the Quad Cities is accepting nominees for the Annual YWCA Hearts of Gold Award. The Award is given to a woman who gives freely and unselfishly by volunteering her time to community activities; inspires others and acts as a role model; has a positive impact on the direction and success of community projects, programs or individuals; improves the lives of others; and reflects the mission of the YWCA: to eliminate racism and to empower women.

Any person or organization can make a nomination. Persons or organizations making a nomination should provide a description of why this person is being nominated for the award; provide a description of how the work done by the nominee and her leadership capabilities have positively impacted the lives of others; give an example of how the nominee has made strides toward eliminating racism and/or empowering women; and describe any significant achievements, awards or other formal recognition from the community.

Nominations must be received in the YWCA Office by close of business on May 14, 2010. The YWCA is located at 229 16th Street, Rock Island.

The Annual Hearts of Gold Luncheon, will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010, 12:00 p.m.
